This guide here mainly can tell us how to convert MTS to MPEG-2 for Premiere Pro CC for a nice editing on the latest operation Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.
If you've got some of those MTS files from a Sony, Canon or Panasonic camcorder, you want to open in a program that doesn't support them, like Premiere Pro CC, then you're going to have to convert MTS to a PPro CC supported format.
I'm trying to import an MTS file (video file from my camera) into Premiere Pro CC on Yosemite but failure. Then I changed the format to import successfully but there is no audio!
Although Adobe claimed that Premiere Pro CC and above offer much better native AVCHD support than its predecessor, there are still some video, audio codec problems while importing/editing AVCHD MTS clips in Premiere Pro. Plus, even the Adobe program can ingest your MTS files directly, it takes a long time for rendering. The best method to avoid any problems and save time is to transcode MTS footage into a Premiere Pro most compatible format like MPEG-2.
To solve these problems , I asked many friends, and searched a lot of forums. Finally I have solved. Here is the good solution.
First, my friend recommended to me a software named MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac. This is a great MTS to Premiere conversion software , not only MTS format , but also others, such as M2TS, M2T, TS, AVCHD. After my test, I purchased it.
Next, I will demonstrate the steps. More details are allowed here for you to take the advice:
Step 1: Click “Add video” on the main interface to load MTS files to the program. You can also drag the files to the program’s window list directly. This program can also support the batch video clips.
Step 2: Open the list of supported formats by clicking the convert to section. Locate the collection of MPEG-2 presets which is best for editing in Premiere Pro CC on Yosemite.
Step 3: You can click "Settings" to adjust Bitrates (kbps) and Size (pix). Don't forget the balance between video quality and size.
Step 4: Click the “Convert” button to start converting MTS to MPEG-2. After the conversion, click the “Open” button to locate the output files and import the files to Premiere Pro CC for editing on Yosemite.
This guide just taught how to convert MTS to MPEG-2 for Premiere Pro CC on Yosemite, but the Conversion software of Pavtube MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac can convert MTS/M2TS to import in other Mac editors, such as Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Avid Media Composer, Apple Aperture 3.
